OPAL Program

OPAL was a new scientific project with multiple partners that required a logo design created ‘from scratch’. The project is focused on an optoelectronical hardware system for computing. We incorporated a gemstone in the logo with continuous waves and electrical printed circuit lines with nodes on the other, to express the computational aspect of the project.
Through discussions with the client, we established that several versions of the logo will be required: a colorful version that can be included on scientific posters, websites, etc., and a more minimal, monochrome version that can be matched to each partner institution. Both can be used with or without the text showing the expansion of the OPAL abbreviation.
